Thelma Lucinda (Dalton) Taylor, 86, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord Friday, November 20, 2020. She was born October 2, 1934 in Shorts Creek, Virginia.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Iona Dalton; brothers, Elmer, Troy and Jim; sisters, Dorothy, Edith and Louise.
She worked for years at the shirt factory on the railroad tracks in Ashland and then as a cashier in the store at the former Speed and Brisco at Lewistown Road.
Thelma is survived by her children, Arlene Hayes (Johnnie) and Angela Hallach (Kevin); grandchildren, Eric Taylor, Charlie Hayes, and Elizabeth Bigelow (Ben); sister, Geneva Dalton and numerous nieces and nephews, who lovingly knew her as “Fom”.
She was a member of Gwathmey Baptist Church in Ashland. Visitation will be held Monday, November 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Nelsen Funeral Home – Reid Chapel, Ashland. Interment will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, in Woodland Cemetery, Hanover Avenue, Ashland.
