Thomas Preston Brushwood, 55, of Ashland, passed away December 15, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Allen Brushwood and his brother, John Paul Brushwood. Thomas was a carpenter/framer by trade and a lover of nature. He is survived by his children, Marley Ann Brushwood and Thomas Preston Brushwood, Jr.; sisters, Frances Lenox Harris, Elizabeth Ann Brushwood, Helen Blair Busic, and Katherine Hargrave Lawrence; brothers, Mark Allen Brushwood and Kevin Ryan Brushwood, and his mother, Frances Lenox Thomas-McConnell. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James the Less Episcopal Church, 125 Beverly Rd, Ashland, VA 23005. A covered dish reception will follow. Interment will be held the same day at Bonny Biggin Farm, 11108 McConnell Lane, Ashland, VA 23005.
