Bernice married my Uncle Dan when I was 9 years old. I remember many happy holidays on the Belbeck farm, where my morher, Ivy , grew up as Dan’s much older sister. Bernice learned to be a farm wiife and amazing mother to her four children out on the challenging prairies She stayed with us in Comox , B.C. while on holiday visiting her family in Ladysmith in the early 1970’s & our friendshp grew. Her birthday was 2 days after mine. We both loved reading & shared books often.
She was always cheerful & positive. I admired her ability to adjust to the struggles of life and to enjoy her many accomplishments. I will miss receiving her letters, always full of family news & events. My deepest sympathy to Dan, Sandra, Diane & Russell.

Rockglen & District Tourism Committee will miss Bernice. What many may not realize is the size of your families contribution to Tourism here: Hugely important to us is that Bernice had much to do with saving and relocating the Station to its current location and that Dan, Sandra & Roger, Russell and Janette have been exceptionally faithful in helping us whenever they were needed.

Bernice will be missed. Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss.

My sincerest sympathy to the Belbeck family. I remember Bernice and Dan’s warm hospitality and generosity toward the girl guides and the wonderful times we spent camping in the shelter of the trees beside the lake at the Belbeck farm. May these and many other memories help you through this difficult time of grief.

Sandra, we are so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved mom. I have so many fond memories of our summers spent on your farm at the lake and banging around in that old car that you had painted with daisies in true 60’s style. Your mom was “ok” with everything. Truely a gracious lady. We will be thinking of your family as you celebrate the rich and purposeful life your mom lived.
Our sincere condolences to you and Roger ,your dad, and Russel and Diane and all of their families.
Love and hugs to you all.

We were sorry to hear of Bernice's death. We have so many memories of her work helping to get the town library up and running; her support for the Arts Council; her work on moving and building the museum which is now the tourism Information Station. She helped with a lot of fundraising and so many town celebrations. Her strength as a woman and mother helped build a vibrant community. Sending love to Dan, Russell, Sandra, Diane and all the many grandchildren. May your wonderful memories surround you.
