Brenda was born on May 3rd, 1960 in Assiniboia, SK, the oldest daughter to Max and Margaret Valentine. Brenda started school in Assiniboia but later moved to Bengough, where she graduated high school. It is where she met and fell in love with Neil.
On June 6, 1981 Neil and Brenda were married. In November of 1982, they welcomed their first daughter Kristie. The same year they also moved to their farm that they bought from Rod and Bunny. It was there that they began a life of farming and ranching and welcomed two more daughters, Kirby in June of 1985 and Kelsey in November of 1987.
Brenda may have been born and raised in town but she was a country girl at heart. Her and Neil worked together as a team growing grain, working cattle and raising three girls. She worked right alongside the men, driving grain trucks, chasing cows, doing chores and taking meals to the field. She assumed her farm wife roles right from the start. She became the cow checker and chore girl when Neil worked away off the farm. She had milk cows and would spend hours separating cream on the old table in the basement. She also started to work off the farm when the girls got older. She worked in Big Beaver for 20 years at Aust’s General Store with Rhonda and Ronnie and worked in the Big Muddy Meat shop with Gary and Sharon wrapping meat. She loved all her odd jobs that she had. Mostly because she had great people to work with but also because of the people she met along the way.
Brenda is survived by husband Neil Vancuren, her children Kristie Hoffart (Gerard), Kirby Gravelle (Travis) and Kelsey Weibe (Ryan), as well as eight grandchildren Rihanna, Riley, Landon, Treyton, Levi, Ryder, Payton and Ashlynn. Also surviving are her sisters Karen (Gary) Colyn, Gene (Danny) Vilcu, brother Darren (Debbie) Valentine, mother-in-law Fay Vancuren, sister-in-law Nola (David)Hill, numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents Margaret and Maxwell Valentine, sister Patsy and father-in-law Virgil Vancuren.
