With aching hearts, we announce the passing of Constantine (Conn C.) Yorga on July 17, 2026, at Assiniboia Union Hospital, Assiniboia, SK, at the age of 93 years. He greatly missed his beloved wife who passed in January and went to be with her.
Conn was born at home in the Elm Springs District, SK on December 1, 1933. He was raised in this area near Flintoft, SK along with his siblings. Conn left school early to run the farm as both his father and older brother were laid up with injuries. He was also granted his driver’s license early to aid in his running of the farm. Conn never strayed too far from home regardless of his interest in becoming an RCMP member. However, at that time, his need to wear glasses disqualified him. He did spend some time working on a road construction crew, where he developed a dislike for instant mashed potatoes.
Conn eventually tired of his bachelor life and placed an ad seeking companionship. Luckily this resulted in correspondence with his future wife. On July 7, 1967, he married Lillian Olson in Melville, SK. They promptly renewed their vows the next day in Assiniboia, SK. And even though it was a late start for that generation Conn soon settled into being a devoted husband and father for the next 58 years.
Conn partnered with his brother and was the rancher half of Yorga Brothers Farm. They tried a few different breeds before settling with Limousin cattle. Windy Hill Limousin went on to win a few awards, which Conn was quite proud of. He was active in the community involved with various clubs and societies through the years. Including supporting his children in their interests. Conn also enjoyed playing cards, especially crib, and took part in many tournaments and social games over the years.
Conn was predeceased by his parents Constantine (Con P.) and Katy Yorga, wife Lillian, sister Elaine (Floyd) Krock and nephew Devon Yorga. His brother Nick C. (Vickie) Yorga passed away a short two weeks after Conn.
Conn is survived by his children Laura (Ron) Heide and Aaron Yorga, grandchildren Kaitlyn (Ron) Everson and Cole (Alana) Heide, great granddaughter Quinn Everson, niece Merna (Doug) Durant and sister-in-law Jeanette Olson.
Death leaves a heartache that can’t be healed, love leaves memories for a lifetime.
