
Donald Perry Lewis, of Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, passed away at the Assiniboia Union Hospital peacefully March 7, 2016, at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born September 22, 1922 to Perry and Deborah Lewis on the family farm at Tuberose, Saskatchewan. With his four siblings, Clarence, Myra, Doreen and Jim, he spent his youth working on the farm near Kyle, Saskatchewan. In 1956, Don married Beverly Carter and moved to Regina to farm north of the city. In 1969, he bought a farm in Assiniboia where he raised his active family. Along with his love of the land, he was an exceptional gardener. Another one of Don’s passions was sports, including track and field, hockey, baseball, and curling. He went on to win the Saskatchewan Masters Curling Championship in 1986 and the Provincial Ball Championships 1976-77 for which he was very proud. Don will always be remembered for his infectious laugh, great sense of humour, love of family and friends. Don is survived by his five children: Cathy Landa, Karen (Brian) Bogdanovich, Terry (Alison) Lewis, Brad (Gay) Lewis, and Debra (Joey) Miles; grandchildren: Linsie, Karli, Ashley, Troy, Nika, Jenny, Carter, and Taylor; great-grandchildren: Davin, Jaxin, Caydin, Mya, Layton, Jace, Dex, Delyla and Lennon.
