Gordon Engstrom, of Assiniboia, SK, passed away June 30, 2018 at age 92. Predeceased by his parents Victor and Mabel (nee Vandahl), granddaughter Julie Engstrom, sons-in-law Jim Cosh and Des Browning; Gordon is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley (nee Alexander); four children: Vic (Leslie) of Assiniboia; Janice (Larry) Hilderman of Wolseley; Kris Engstrom of Saskatoon (Kris passed away July 2, 2018) and Betty Anne Cosh of Okotoks; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gordon was a passionate farmer and musician. He enjoyed working in his shop, building and modifying equipment for the farm. His family was so important to him; always having to know what was happening in our lives. He enjoyed all our visits and was so grateful for visits and phone calls. Farming was very important to him even in the last few years making almost daily trips to the farm with mom, to make sure everything was going ok. He had plans to run the combine for a few hours this fall. Music was a big part of his life, starting with his homemade banjo at age 6, to his saxophone with Polka Dots and the Messiah Gospel Band playing to the very end. He will be so dearly missed. "May the Sun shine on all of you Today!!” Funeral Service was held at Messiah Lutheran Church, Assiniboia, SK on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 1:30 pm. Pastor Robert Langdon officiating.
