Mrs. Heather Jeanie Maffenbeier

Heather was born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan on August 17, 1946, to James and Margaret (Coghill) Currie. Heather moved to Assiniboia where she worked at the local grocery store.

Heather married Clarence in 1969 and they had two sons Bret in 1970 and Grant in 1974.

Heather loved having her home filled with kids, whether her children’s friends, neighborhood kids or later grandchildren and great grandchildren. Heather babysat while her boys were young and built lifelong relationships with both the kids and their parents. Heather always had a pot of coffee and a plate of treats waiting for whoever was walking in the door.

Heather is predeceased by her husband Clarence, her father James, mother Margaret, and sister Sandra. She is survived by her son Bret (Niki) Maffenbeier, son Grant (Laura Leah) Maffenbeier, granddaughter Kaylee (Kevin) Reetz, granddaughter Brooke Maffenbeier (dog Shadow), grandson Garrett Maffenbeier, and great grandchildren Kirsten and Kaiden Reetz, sister Charlene, sister Bonnie, sister Margaret Ann and brother Denis as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 1:00 pm at St. George Parish Hall, Assiniboia, SK. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK followed by fellowship at St. George’s Parish Hall. Donations in memory of Heather may be made to S.T.A.R.S.
