Irene Udora Johnson passed away on August 10, 2026 at the Coronach Health Centre, Long Term Care Facility, Coronach, Saskatchewan, at the age of 95 years.

Irene, along with her parents, Jim and Dora McPeek and family, moved to the Coronach District in 1939, farming north of the town of Coronach. In 1949, Irene married Walter Johnson, the McPeek family’s hired farm hand. Eventually, Irene and Walt took over the farm where they resided until 1983, when they retired to their home in Coronach on the west side of town.

Irene, in addition to being a very active farm wife, was a crafter, quilter, gardener and baker. She was a soft spoken and gentle lady who loved her family dearly. She also possessed a strong faith in her Saviour Jesus, having decided to follow Jesus at a young age.

Predeceased by her husband Walter, her siblings Evelyn (Art) Manske, Ruth (Don) O’Neill, Bud (Thelma) McPeek, Hazel (Ed) Loewen, Earl (Iris) McPeek, George McPeek, and Linda (Len) Shakotko. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Heslop, her sister-in-law Bessie McPeek, her children; son Gordon (Shirley) Johnson, daughter Joanne (Calvin) Planz, her grandchildren Jennifer (Duane), Crystal, Cory and Vanessa, and her great-grandchildren K’enna and Parker, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 7, 2026 at 1:00pm at the Alliance Church, Coronach, Saskatchewan.
