Jeff Jeff G. Rood

Jeffery George Rood, of Bengough, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2016. He is survived by wife of 69 years, Stella (Lawrence), brother Victor, five children: Narena Tomlinson (Glen Pattison), Kyreon (Joan), Erin Keller (Les), Kitona Gibson (Al), Bryce (Shelley); grandchildren: Terena Tomlinson, Darren Tomlinson, Kellie Hebert, Cody Rood, Trevor Gibson, Shay Keller, Raelynn Wakley, Rheanne Keller, Taylor Rood, Braden Rood and eight great-grandchildren. Jeff was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ellen, daughter Dalyce and brother Edward. Born on February 21, 1923 in Viceroy, Saskatchewan, he was raised on the family farm at Harptree, Saskatchewan with his two brothers. He worked on several ranches in the area before joining the Army in 1943-45, afterword returned to ranching which was his passion. His family was very important and he was always interested in what they were doing. Funeral Service was held December 12, 2016 at the Bengough Community Hall, with Gary K. Miller presiding. Tributes were given by grandchildren, Terena, Cody and Shay. Pallbearers were grandchildren. Interment followed at the Harptree Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jeff may be made to S.T.A.R.S.
