November 6th, 1980 - October 7th, 2021
It is with great sorrow that we mourn the unexpected passing of Jeremy Joseph Sabourin.
Jeremy was born on November 6th, 1980 to parents Joe and Dolores (Lanoie) Sabourin in Regina, SK
He grew up on a grain farm east of Scout Lake, SK and attended school in Willow Bunch, SK from kindergarten through Grade 10. He then transferred to Assiniboia Composite High and graduated in 2000.
From an early age, Jeremy loved the outdoors and was a farm boy at heart. His creative talent for invention and engineering led him to pursue a career as a machinist and enrolled at SIAT in Calgary. After his training, he spent several years working in the trade. Although he thoroughly enjoyed the work, he decided to return to farming for himself, his dad and as a hired man.
Jeremy had many passions in his life, including sport fishing, hunting, music and range. He was a member of the Saskatchewan Handgun Association and local safety officer for several years. He was an excellent marksman and took great pride in teaching these skills to others. His dedication to the sport, practice and an eagle eye won him many provincial and national titles.
You could say that Jeremy's love for music started the day that he was born…literally. Merely hours, after he first opened his eyes, his dad had rushed out to buy him his first guitar, a Les Paul, which he still owned and played.
Jeremy had an insatiable hunger for knowledge in any subject matter that interested him. He was constantly reading and researching to improve his own skill set and those around him. It was quite frequently said by friends and family, that Jeremy was the smartest man that they have ever met. Above all, Jeremy had a compassionate and sensitive soul that was wrapped in a lumberjack package. He worked hard for himself but even harder for others and was always there for a friend in need. He loved to share amusing, and often wild, anecdotes that would have the listener smiling and laughing harder than him. Jeremy’s smile, his laughter and his kindred spirit will be missed greatly.
Jeremy is predeceased by his grandparents on both sides and other extended family members. He is survived by his parents, Joe and Dolores, his sister Celeste and brother-in-law Steeves Tremblay, his beloved companion Danielle and lastly, his cat General Tiberius (Tibby).
Jeremy’s immediate family will be together for a remembrance service. The family asks for your continued support in their wishes for privacy in this difficult time. Donations in Jeremy’s memory may be made to The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Regina General Hospital, Hospitals of Regina Foundation, #225 – 1874 Scarth St., Regina, SK S4P 4B3. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.rossfuneralservice.com for the Sabourin family. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK
