Joan Marian Mooney

After Joan graduated from high school, she moved to Regina where she met the love of her life, Terry Mooney. They were married on October 26, 1963. They moved to the family farm in 1968 where they farmed and raised their three sons. They lived on the farm until Terry got sick in March 2024. At that point Joan, became a resident of the Bengough Health Center. She lived there until she passed away on August 21, 2026.

Joan loved helping people as was proven by her many years in Health Care, working as an EMT and a nurse’s aide. She even continued the role of caregiver with her fellow residents at the Bengough Health Center when she first arrived there, making sure her fellow residents were warm and comfortable. She also taught First Aid to many people over the years.

Joan enjoyed playing ball and curling. She and Terry would spend many Friday nights dancing in Weyburn with several of their close friends. They loved dancing! Joan had a love of music and entertaining others. She sang in the Bengough Community Choir and was an active member of the Glasnevin Icicles. She was one of the original board members for The Gateway Festival.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, six of her siblings (Edith, Ray, Glen, Don, Audrey, Jean) and her husband Terry. To cherish her memory, Joan leaves her sons Scott (Theresa), Regan, Cory, her granddaughter Hayley, her sister Sheila, brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews.

Her loving and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 1:00 pm, at Bengough Community Hall, Bengough, SK. Ann Hagen officiating. Interment in Bengough Cemetery, Bengough, SK
