Joe leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Lisa (Neal) Harty and his two beautiful granddaughters, Cassidy and Emma. He is also survived by two sisters, Mable (Roy) Johnson, Mattie Hagen and one brother, Louie (Shirley) Goulet, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Louie and Gertrude Goulet; his brother, Victor; a grandson, James; two nephews, Brian and Leon as well as a great niece, Pam.
Joe was born on April 16, 1942 in Medicine Hat, AB, and raised on the family farm south of Manyberries, AB. Joe has worked many different jobs but the one he loved was working for CP Rail for almost 25 years, about 10 years in Manyberries and the rest in various locations throughout southern Saskatchewan until choosing the little town Assinibioia to retire in. He retired in 1998 and spent a lot of his time doing the things that he loved; fishing, gardening, hunting and telling his jokes and stories to his pals at the Bar-B. He was always smiling and would be one of the first people to lend a hand if he could. He loved his family, especially his two little pip-squeaks, Cassidy and Emma.
A Memorial Service to celebrate his life was held on August 30, 2011 at Ross Funeral Chapel. Another service will take place in his hometown, Manyberries, AB, on September 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m at the Community Hall. A private interment will follow at the Manyberries Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.rossfuneralservice.com
