

Lilian passed away peacefully on February 20, 2014. She was born May 17, 1923 at home on her parent’s farm near Cut Knife, Saskatchewan to Tom Martin and Essie (Holmes) Martin. This is where she grew up, attending Riding Hill and Rosemound country schools, and later finishing her schooling in Cut Knife. Lilian went to Normal School in Saskatoon and became a teacher. She taught for two years at Dry Gully School near Maidstone, Saskatchewan. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young girl, and served Him faithfully her entire life. She married Emanuel Myers on December 30, 1943. They lived and farmed in the Vantage district. In 1985 they moved to Assiniboia, where she lived until her death. Lilian is predeceased by her husband Emanuel Myers, her parents Tom and Essie Martin, her brothers Elmer Martin and Roy Martin. She will be remembered and lovingly missed by her children, Ruby Dilsner (Sam), Martin Myers (Rita), Newton Myers (Ila) and Pearl Myers, her brothers David Martin (Doreen) and Edgar Martin (Olga.) She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Roger, Ed and Mark Dilsner, Jesse, Bill and Tom Myers, Jonathan Myers and Victoria Schick, and Levi Myers, Jeffrey Myers and Jillian Smith. She will also be remembered by 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service was held Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in the Assiniboia Alliance Church, Assiniboia, SK. Pastor Greg Dermody officiated. Organist was Illa Mitchell. Pallbearers were grandsons. Interment followed in Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK. Donations in Memory of Lilian may be made to the Alliance Church Memorial Fund.
