My deep condolences to the extended Watchorn family.
 I did not know Marj, but it is to her mother and father's home that my father arrived from Ireland in 1923 just before she was born. 
I carry my father's deep regard and thankfulness to the family for his start in this country.

It is with sadness  that Eldeen  told me of the passing of  her mother Marj and I  would like to pass on my deepest sympathies to Eldeen,Judith, Verda, Doreen and Dorothy  and the entire Watchorn family, nieces ,nephews and many generations  of  grandchildren on behalf of the  Watchorn and  Stanley family  in  Ireland. 
Marj was a first cousin  of my mother, one  of  82  first  cousins of Elizabeth Kearon ( nee Stanley) and has a hugh  extended family  in Ireland of  approx  2500  relatives. The  passage  of  time and distance  and the  older family members who were the glue  that held the family together, many have passed  on, but because  of my mothers meticulous record keeping  of  her Canadian family, I was able  to find  and reconnect to my Canadian family.  It  has  been a pleasure   to have  been a part of Marj's both 100th  and 101 st birthday even if remotely by e mail and photos. My thoughts are with you  at this sad time of the passing  of the Matriarch  of the family and will be following  the link  provided  of  the service.

When  one losses a family member, it is hard to know what to say.  Words fall short in the face of something as devastating as death, especially if you can't comfort your cousins in person. But I would like to share a fond memory I have  of my Aunty Marg.
She had so many talents and was gifted in many ways. She was a baker and seamstress. She took it upon herself to sew my grad dress and added her own special touch of a  draw string bag to complete my outfit.  She  was gifted in doing yarn work. 
She was a strong woman and had the ability to  persevere through life's challenges.  Aunt Marg left no cards on the table.

I have many memories of Mrs McGirr, she said her name was Marj and I called her that. I spent lots of time at the McGirr house as Judy is my best friend.  I close my eyes and I can see your mom and Grandma sitting at the kitchen table looking out the window having a cup of coffee and a cigarette and a welcoming smile.  I loved her spice cake with brown sugar icing along with pies or cookies . There was always baking to be had after school. She was a great cook ,seamstress , knitter and a wonderful lady. The McGirr house was my second home growing up. Sending hugs to all of you and a thank you for sharing your Mom and Grandma ❤️🙏  from Terry (Olson) Harrison.
