She suffered from dementia for a number of years but contracted pneumonia shortly before her death, which proved stronger than her. Muriel Lucille Callan was born on June 17, 1928 on the family farm near Buffalo Gap in southern Saskatchewan. She had two older brothers Raymond and Gerald (Jolly) and two younger sisters Phyllis and Velda. Muriel married Vic Schuweiler in 1947. They moved to Assiniboia where they raised 5 children: Larry (Donna), Blaine (Jo Ann), Judy, Dale (Gorete) and Michael (Colleen). Muriel has ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Vic, her brothers and sisters and one grandchild Daina. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law Elsie Callan and Theresa Smith, and two brothers-in-law Frank Smith and Bill Schuweiler. Muriel loved life and fun. She had a good but quirky sense of humour. For those who knew her or worked with her you know what we mean.
