Norman Wilfred Shaver passed away peacefully at the Bengough Health Centre on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the age of 92 years. Norman was born on the farm in the RM of Rosedale, Manitoba on March 20, 1926, the fourth child of Jay and Jean Shaver. The Shaver family moved back to the Waniska District, north of the Big Muddy. Norman grew up on the Trail’s End Ranch, raising cattle and training horses. Norman farmed and did construction contracting in Regina, Nipawin, as well as Bengough and surrounding areas. Norman also drove school bus for the Waniska District for 35 years. Norman is lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Stella (nee Gravelle); sons Randy (Marina), Monty (Valerie), Corry, daughter Janet Blackmore; brother Archie; brothers-in-law Cliff Gravelle and Cal Gravelle; sisters-in-law June Shaver, Eileen Shaver and Claire (Don) Rose; daughter-in-law Marlene Shaver; grandchildren Amy (Tim), Nathan, Beccy (Roger), Charity (Doug), Sarah (Des), Logan (Rose), Jordan, Dixy, Cody, Roxy (Brent), Jeff, Kimberlee, Cody and Carly; great grandchildren Chelsea, Wyatt, Clay, Riley, Parker, Sierra, Brooklyn, Stella, Cohen, Eryn, Robert, Daniel, Judah, Owen, and all of his nieces and nephews. Norman is predeceased by his parents, Jay and Jean Shaver, parents-in-law Milton and Lucille Gravelle, daughter Darcy, grandson Randy, son-in-law Lyle Blackmore, brothers Bob and Ken, sisters-in-law Doris Shaver, Stella Shaver, Jean Knutson, Margaret Albers and Helen Gravelle, and brother Harvey passed away June 23, 2018.
