Ralph Karasinski, of Assiniboia, SK, passed away peacefully November 17, 2014 with his loving wife at his side. Ralph was born June 7, 1927 in Limerick, Sk. He is predeceased by his parents, Anthony Karasinski and Marie (Hildebrandt) Karasinski, grandson Evan Humen, son-in-law Ron Petrie. He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Anderson), children Joan Petrie, Grant Karasinski and Valerie (Randy) Humen, grandchildren Spencer, Stuart, Hayley and Andrew Petrie, Daryl and Ross Karasinski. He is also survived by his brother Joe (Verna Tardiff). Ralph taught school for 35 years, starting in Killdeer, Sk. in a one-room school. After a short hiatus in the 1950’s working in a chocolate factory in Ontario, he returned to teaching in Limerick where he spent most of the rest of his teaching career, with the exception of a couple years in Regina to obtain his Bachelor of Arts in Education. Ralph was an avid reader and a huge sports fan. He and his brother Joe spent many happy days in the 1950s touring the countryside in summer to play baseball, and in winter to curl. He loved a competition and on beautiful spring days it was fairly easy for a classroom to talk him into letting them outside to play a game of scrub which he would ump. He also farmed for many decades with his brother and was blessed to grow up and live and die near the community of Limerick which he loved. Funeral service will be held at the Limerick Community Hall at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 20th, 2014. Donations in memory of Ralph may be made to Limerick Rink.
