July 9, 1954, Rodney married the love of his life, Anna Edna Spagrud of Rockglen. They made their home on the Andrew Heagy homestead. Rodney and Anna raised cattle and were mixed farmers. In 1956 Blair came along and then in 1959 Patti. Life was full.
Rodney loved to hunt, fish, curl and visit with family and friends. He loved his hunting trips with his brother Vince; Elk hunting in the mountains with in-laws Mel and Ed. Rodney also enjoyed hunting with his son, Blair. Then later, with grandsons Jared and Travis. There were numerous camping trips with all the family. Fishing with Anna, grandkids and kids. Rodney also enjoyed his many fishing trips with Anna and their friends. All the wonderful times and hilarious moments will be remembered in each heart.
Rodney was a Kinsmen Life Member, an achievement he was truly honored by. Rodney attended the first Telemiracle in Regina. Rodney was on the Rockglen Coop Board for over ten years, served on the Unit and Central School Boards and on the Assiniboia Housing Board. Rodney took up downhill skiing at the age of 50. You could tell when he was practicing. If you looked at the hills on the farm you could see the many places where the snow was packed down and there was no ski trail. He fell, got up, went a bit and fell again. Continuing until he mastered staying upright.
