It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ronald Andre Fafard, of Assiniboia, SK, announce his sudden passing on November 28, 2010 at the age of 51. Born November 7, 1959 Ron is survived by his father Ray of Assiniboia, his sister Suzanne (Brian) of Calgary, his brothers Marc (Jean) of Seoul Korea, Michael of Saskatoon and Allen (Carmen) of Pilot Butte; sister-in-law Karen Fafard of Scout Lake; nieces and nephews: Dena, Jolene, Darrell, Val, Jackie, Jenna, Ryan, Brittney and Taylor, great-nieces Jazlyn, Karyss, Jaylah and Haylie and great-nephew Matthew. Ron was predeceased by his mother, Germaine (1997), and his brothers Robert (1963) and Paul (2000). Ron graduated from Assiniboia in 1978. Definitely not a farmer, as demonstrated early on with his inability to distinguish the diesel fuel tank from the hydraulic tank on the tractor, Ron went to STI in Moose Jaw for his journeyman carpentry and went on to have a very successful career in construction running his own business for several years. Ron worked in Schuswap, Kelowna, Kamloops, Calgary, and Assiniboia and started RF Construction in the early 90's. Ron loved to travel and spent numerous vacations in Asia and Latin America and developed many great friendships around the globe and at home. We all have many memories of Ron: singing Johnny Cash as loud as he could at the tender age of 10; his regular attendance at the St. Victor Biker Boogie, even dancing with his nieces; playing Santa for the kids pulling gifts from his own special sack; his cooking ability that evolved over time; coming back from Thailand blonde and with piercings and tattoos. While sometimes grumpy, he did have a quirky sense of humor and a great work ethic, sometimes being a perfectionist. He had an incredible pride of ownership. His friends and family provided joy and laughter. He truly loved his family and friends. A tribute was held in Ron's honor at the Ross Funeral Chapel in Assiniboia on Saturday, December 4, 2010. A private family interment will follow in the Lisieux Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to do so, may make donations in Memory of Ron to the Canadian Mental Health Association Saskatchewan Division, 2702 12th Ave. Regina, S4T 1J2. Ron was a special soul that touched the hearts of many, and will live on in our memories forever. May he know how much he is loved and missed and how many tears are being shed at his passing. Until we meet again. With love. From all of us. Big Hugs.
