Tom is remembered as a kind, helpful, loving man. The messages posted on his tribute page on his obituary speak of the person he was and were inspirational to us as a family.
Tom loved to laugh. He grew up watching the great comedies. The first drive in movie we went to as a family was The Jerk. Every birthday party growing up with the neighbourhood kids had to include an airing of Airplane the movie while eating our weiner wraps. Christmas always involved watching & quoting the Griswold’s Christmas Vacation and our own home video of Christmas in 1983. He loved reminiscing about our Christmas’s growing up going to Saskatchewan and visiting with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Tom grew up playing T-ball, then Little League Baseball and Hockey. He always had a love of sports. As an adult he went on to coach football for the Calgary Colts, and was also a scout for the Brandon Wheat Kings. He would proudly attend the Mac’s Midget Hockey tournament every year.
Tom was always very popular in school and had no trouble making friends that would last a lifetime. He was always very fashionable; he had a great eye for design, and he loved to hunt for great deals.
Tom loved to travel. He went to Los Angeles many times. Going to Disneyland was a highlight growing up, one that he proudly passed on to his son Daniel when they attended the Magic Kingdom together. They also went to New York with Daniel and Chicago buying him little jerseys and hats for the Cubs, and Yankees. He held onto those long after Daniel grew out of them.
Tom was an animal lover, especially to all his cats. He had Sandy & Rocky growing up. Then when he married Brenda they got Bella. A few years after Bella passed they got Oscar & Raven and he became close to his Mom & Dad’s cat Rayna. He was also a proud uncle to Bonnie & Cory’s cat Mikey. His phone was filled with photo’s of his cats. He even volunteered with Brenda and Daniel at the ARC’s animal rescue.
Our son, brother, husband, father, nephew, cousin, and friend is truly missed but will never be forgotten!
As we lay to rest Tom in this holy place adjacent to his grandparents Dan and Georgina, uncles Bill, Stoney (Constantine), and Mitch, we welcome that he rests in peace with his family members that meant so much to him!
Thomas Robert Boghean you were loved by all of us! God bless!
