Mrs. Anderson, a lifelong resident of Limestone County, taught piano lessons to hundreds of students during a long career. She attended the Athens First United Methodist Church, having served as president of the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Anderson was a charter member of the Athena League and served on the Limestone County Department of Human Resources Executive Board for many years.
She was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Martha Christopher, and was married to the late John D. "Jack" Anderson. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wayne Christopher (Pennie).
Survivors include two sons, Mark Anderson (Kimi), and John Anderson (Jeanne); five grandchildren, Joe Anderson (Symphony), Katie Anderson Walker (Britt), Shea Andrews (Shane), Whitney Hale (Todd) and Alexandria Taylor (Brandon Hootman); three brothers, Bobby Christopher (Ruth), Butch Christopher (Rhoda) and Ben Christopher (Kathy); nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Calvin Deuel.
A private graveside service will be held Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be given to a favorite charity.
