Beulah P. Pope

The Funeral Service for Beulah P. Pope, age 88, of Athens, AL; will be Monday, February 17, 2014 at 11a.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Brother Dwight Raburn and Brother Anthony Anderson officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 16, 2014: 6-9 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Burial will be in New Oakland Cemetery.

Mrs. Pope passed away Thursday February 13, 2014 at Athens Rehab and Senior Care Center.

She was born October 2, 1925 in Limestone County, Alabama to Calvin Durham and Lilly Mae Crawford. She was the owner of Wagon Wheel, and she worked at Martin Stove. She was a homemaker and a loving grandmother.

Mrs. Pope is preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter Kay Tarpley, one brother Dilly Durham, and three sisters Ilene Russell, Ruth Tennison, and Rochelle Rocco.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Harvey Jackson Pope of Athens; three sons Billy W. Pope and wife Pat of Athens, AL; Larry J. Pope, Sr. and wife Jewel of Elkmont, AL; Tony R. Pope of Elkmont, AL; two daughters Shirley Ann Morris of Athens, AL; and Betty J (Wise) Stanford and husband Davey of Athens, AL; one brother Glenn Durham, and three sisters Joann Gillian, Jenelle Blankenship, and Ilamae Russell several Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and Great Great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tony Pope, Jr., Eric Wise, Larry Pope, Jr., Stacey Pope, Jason Pope, Mike Elmore, Terry Elmore, and Billy Pope, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex Elmore, and Taylor Thomas.
