

Carl Cecil Huber, 94, passed away peacefully at home supported by the love and prayers of family and friends. He was born on November 5, 1921 to Maggie E. and Frank Huber, Sr. in Athens, AL. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, three sisters, Christine Huber, Rosaline Huber and Hazel Huber of Athens, AL, and one brother, Frank Huber Jr. and his wife Emily W. LaBathe Huber of Huntsville, AL. He is survived by a host of family and friends.
Carl, known to many as “Pappy”, was a faithful man, loving father and hard worker. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of family, friends and strangers. He was a long time member of Huntsville Park Church of Christ. He spent several years in the Army during WWII and retired from Redstone Arsenal in 1985. He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, fishing, golfing and crossword puzzles.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by a funeral service on Saturday, Oct. 29th, at McConnell Funeral Home, 1200 E. Forrest St., Athens, AL 35613. A graveside service for family and friends will be held following the service at the Athens City Cemetery, off Hobbs St. with Rev. Don Cox officiating.
