Funeral Service will be Monday May 3, 2021 at 2 P.M. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Andy John King officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday May 2, 2021 from 6-9 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.
Mr. Black was born August 2, 1942 in Limestone County, AL; to Elgie Price Black, and Cora Hodson Waldrop Black.
He retired after 33 years from Solutia in Decatur, and currently worked for Dealers Auto Auction of Huntsville. Mr. Black was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ed Black, granddaughter Julie Dawn Smith.
Mr. Black is survived by his wife Alice Faye Black of Lester, AL; four daughters Alisha Harbin (Randy) of Athens, AL; Ramona Motes (Jonathan) of Lester, AL; Paula Fialk (Richard) of Lester, AL; and Regina Wallace (Shane) of Lester, AL; one sister Myra King (John Wayne) of Athens, AL; and one sister-in-law Gayle Black of Athens, AL; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Shane Wallace, Rusty Wallace, Jonathan Motes, Jacob Motes, Wesley Grant and Brady Grant.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Harbin, and Richard Fialk.
