Dorothy Ruth Head

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 16, 2014: 6-9 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Burial will be in New Oakland Cemetery.

Mrs. Head passed away Sunday September 14, 2014 at her residence.

She was born May 18, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Clarence Merkle and Cara Merkle.

Mrs. Head is preceded in death by her parents; and husband Burton T. Head of 52 years, two sons Robert T. Head, and William T. Head. Dorothy was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, who loved to garden, auctions, and play with her grandchildren, and she loved Elvis.

She is survived by her three daughters Carole Kyle and husband Gene, Janice Schmitz of Crown Point, Indiana, Coralee Zampella of Ardmore, son James Head of Crown Point, Indiana, 19 Grandchildren, and 38 Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Festes Kyle, Billy Kyle, Christ Zampella, George Bruette, Mike Hoeckelberg, Alex Zampella, and Avery Zampella.
