Dwight was survived by his daughter, Tyan Fedun (Paul) of Nashville, Tennessee and son Scott Cook (Debra) of Athens, AL; three Grandchildren, Case Fedun of Nashville, TN., Skyler Cook and Landon Cook of Athens, AL; two step grandchildren, Amanda Davenport and Chelsea Fedum; one brother, Ronnie Baptiste (Cricket) of Springfield, TN; two sisters, Connie Ray of Louisiana and Sandra Huddleston(Dan) of Cincinnati, OH.
Dwight was a resident of Athens, Alabama for 35 years. Born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, he was a proud descendant and native of the Lakota Sioux and Cherokee Tribes. Dwight was a veteran and served proudly in the Navy as a radarman during the Vietnam War. He was the most intellectual man I have ever known, retiring from nuclear and electrical engineering in 2001 from Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. He had a love for classic cars, football and western films.
But above all this, Dwight was a Christian man founding his faith in Jesus during the early 1990’s. Dwight was a loving and supportive father, and more influential than I think he ever realized. The legacy that he left us, his family, is something that we will carry for the rest of our lives.
Funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024 at 1 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to OICWA or Alabama Veteran’s Museum in Athens.
