Born June 21, 1929 to Henry and Virginia Butler, Frances Gallien passed away on September 8, 2021 at the age of 92. A Christian dedicated to Christ, her husband and her family. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother committed to her family. She spent her time on earth living the Christian life she preached as an example to her family. She was the first stop when anyone needed prayers or comforting.
Besides serving her lord, her greatest passion was cooking. Her yeast rolls were sought far and wide by everyone who knew her and her cheeseburgers were the best to be had.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James M. Gallien, parents Henry and Virginia Butler, brother Hobert (June), sisters Hester (Hoot) Gandy (Herman), Esther Hagan (Milburn), and Uessie Blevins (Otis), Marjorie and her son-in-law Edward Smith.
She is survived by son James S. Gallien (Wanda), daughter Marian G. Smith, son Dennis R. Gallien (Sharon); Brother Floyd Butler (Margie); grandchildren Jamie Gallien (Wendy), Jud Gallien (Connie), Stacia Appleton (John), Brandon Smith (Wanda), Matthew Smith (Khristy) and Whitney Hedges (Jon); and many Great-grandchildren.
In observation of her wishes and because of COVID concerns, a short visitation Sunday, September 12 from 2:30 to 3:45 PM at McConnell Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service by Henry Melton at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Gallien, Jud Gallien, Matthew Smith, Brandon Smith, Joshua Gallien and Brody Smith. Timothy Gallien will be an alternate.
