Guin Dewey Morris

Funeral service for Guin D. Morris, age 81 of Athens, will be Saturday, July 25th at 4 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Donald Terry officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Morris passed away Wednesday at Athens Limestone Hospital. He was born January 19, 1934 in Lawrence County to Clifford W. Morris and Zenobia Goodwin Morris.

He was retired from Alcoa, and he loved golfing, bowling, and going to church.

Mr. Morris is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, Shirley Morris, one son, Perry Morris, and four brothers, Lurl Fred Morris, Lyndon Morris, Burl Morris, and Bobby Morris.

Survivors include: four sons, Stanley Morris, Trelynn Morris, Roger Morris and wife Sandie, and Kenny Morris, daughter-in-law, Cindy Morris, one brother, Aaron Morris, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Morris, Tommy Morris, William Guimarin, Derek Standridge, Ross Morris, and Ron Morris. Honorary pallbearer will be Tony Morris.
