He was born in Lyon County, Kentucky on January 25, 1934, to Pross and Myrtle Gillespie Bryson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 71 years Memory; brothers Joe Bryson, Tom Bryson and Lloyd Bryson and sister Inez Wronski.
Jack attended Lawson Grade School and graduated from Crane Tech High School in Chicago. After school, he spent two years in the Army where he spent time in Korea, Japan and Formosa. He then graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a degree in Civil Engineering. Jack worked for Northern Illinois Gas for 31 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed his Canadian fishing trips and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his sons Dan and Steve; four granddaughters Julia, Hannah, Carrie and Molly, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at McConnell Funeral Home on March 28, 2026, from 12-2 PM, a service in his honor will follow at 2 PM. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
