Katherine Yarbrough Horton

Born On October 2, 1923, in Elkmont, Alabama, she was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Donelson Branch Horton and brother, David Archie Yarbrough.

She is survived by her children, Leslie (Joe) Pate; Maclin (Karen) Horton; David Russell; Kathy (Johnny) Garrett; and John (Christy) Horton.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Katherine Bibb, Darrow (Ryan) Bertolina, Jackie (Michael) Wiggs, Will Horton, John (Claire) Horton, Ellen (Greg) Yeager, CJ Horton, Jesse Canterbury, Anna (Matthew) Blaxton, Ginny (Ryan) Shuler, Nori Horton (John Royer), and Emily Horton (Dana Radcliffe).

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Skyler and Wyatt Bibb; Drew Bertolina; Henry, Elise, and Thomas Horton; Emmitt and Lucas Yeager; Henry and Amelia Canterbury; George Blaxton; Palmer Shuler; Hannah and Theo Royer; and Cedar Radcliffe.

Graveside services will be held at 11am on Monday, July 28th at Athens City Cemetery followed by lunch and a Celebration of Life at the Beasley Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Athens First Methodist Church, Hospice of Limestone County, or DHR (Children’s Christmas Fund).
