
The funeral service for Rassie David Fogg, age 92, of Athens will be Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Bro. Fred Lackey, Pastor Edwin Jenkins, and Minister Joe Teal officiating. Music will be provided by Wade Batts.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 - 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Fogg passed away Monday, April 11 at Limestone Health Facility.
Rassie David Fogg was born September 6, 1918 in Ardmore, TN to Rassie Davis Fogg and Fannie Mae Coggins Fogg. He attended Ardmore High School where he lettered in both basketball and football. He married his high school sweetheart Flora Nell Cook, at age 18 and remained married to her for 72 years. He owned and managed Limestone Gas Company for many years. After retirement he enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved having a huge garden so he could share his produce with friends and family.
Mr. Fogg is survived by his wife Flora Nell Fogg; one daughter Valera Anderson and husband Marlin of Athens; two grandsons David Atwood Anderson of Athens and Daniel Nathan Anderson and wife Kandess Johnson Anderson of Owens Cross Roads; brother Damon Fogg and wife Betty of Pulaski, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers Hobart Fogg, Harry Fogg, and Bruce Fogg.
Pallbearers will be David Fogg, Steve Fogg, Tim Fogg, Woody Woodard, John David Brownlow, and Kendrick Romine.
Honorary pallbearers will be First Baptist Senior Adult Men Sunday school class.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist building fund.
