

Roger Dale Davis, born on January 11, 1959, in Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on January 26, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Hughes Davis, their son Joshua, daughter-in-law Kelly, and cherished granddaughter Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Jo Hambright and Lester Davis.
Roger's journey began in Decatur, Alabama, where his parents managed food businesses for Calhoun Community College, Athens State University and Lake Ida Restaurant in Athens. He attended Tanner High School and Calhoun Community College. He and his wife moved to Hawaii in 1978, where they lived for several years and had their son, Joshua. They returned home to Athens, AL in 1982, where he joined the United States Army. He served as a Pershing Missile Crewman stationed in Germany, later excelling in the construction industry across the Southeast.
In retirement, Roger found joy in farming, SEC football, especially Alabama, and watching golf, particularly Tiger Woods. Most importantly, he loved being a PawPaw and keeping up with his granddaughter's adventures brought him immense joy.
Roger Davis leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed.
