Mr. Walter Cole McGuire

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. McGuire died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

He was born Feb. 6, 1936, in Limestone County to Nell and Rowena Smith McGuire. He retired from Meadow Gold Dairies after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim McGuire.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Joyce Ann McGuire of Athens; a son, Kevin McGuire of Athens; stepsons, Michael Griffin and Ricky Griffin and wife Debbie, all of Athens; stepdaughter, Sherry A. Towe of Athens; brother, Billy McGuire of Athens; sisters, Lillian Faulk and Exie Pepper, both of Athens; grandchildren Hunter Towe and special Little Buddy; step-grandchildren, Ben Griffin and Brandi Green.

Pallbearers will be Michael Griffin, Ricky Griffin, Ben Griffin, Cecil Faulk, Corder Woodward and Stanley McGuire.
