She was born in Dublin, Georgia, in 1938, the daughter of Leland and Susie Warren. Ann graduated from Dublin High School and Georgia Southern College, and received a Master's degree from Mercer University in Atlanta. She was a respected first grade teacher in Gwinnett County for 26 years. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, an honorary educator’s society, for 29 years. She served Beta Rho Chapter as President. She was very active in her church all her life, playing the organ and the piano, and singing in the choir. Ann especially loved being a drum majorette with her high school band in Dublin, and being in parades and halftime football shows. She loved people and was a natural performer, and brought energy and enthusiasm to everything she did. She loved hats, and collected and wore hundreds of them. Ann's husband, Jack Anderson, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Derry Anderson of Park City, Utah and his wife Julia, daughter Sheri Black of Franklin, North Carolina and her husband Cliff, by three grandchildren, Luke, Lauren, and Julia-Claire, by her brother Leland Eddie Warren and his wife Ann of Manhattan, Kansas, aunt Faye McConnell of Macon, Georgia, aunt Helen Hudson of Dublin, Georgia, aunt Charlotte Stembridge and uncle Asbury Stembridge, of Macon, Georgia, by her sister-in-law, Gayle King of Cleveland, Ohio, nephew Danny Vozel, also of Cleveland, Ohio, and niece Janine Brubaker of Cleveland Heights, Ohio. She grew up in a large, happy family so she is also survived by many loving cousins with whom she shared a rich full and fun life. Ann has recently been a resident of the Talmage Terrace home in Athens, Georgia.
Graveside services will be at Dublin Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11:30 am, with burial beside her husband and infant son. Rev. Billy Glosson from the First Christian Church of Dublin will be officiating.
