Anna Christine (Ann) Layton-Zachmann

Ann was a native of Royal Oak, MI and had lived in Athens since 1985. She served as a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital, Piedmont Athens Regional, and Kids-R-Kids and in home health. Ann enjoyed baking, traveling, laughing and spending time with her family and friends and her animals. She was of the Baptist faith.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Mervin and Madline Layton.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Zachmann of Athens; daughter, Emily Zachmann of Athens; brother, Henry Layton and his wife, Sharon of Michigan; sister, Diana Culver and her husband, Bruce of California; close friends, Annette O’Neill of Michigan; Karen Moss of Winder; and Suzi Worsham of Indiana; many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 9:00 am to 11:00 am Monday, December 20, 2021 in Bernstein Funeral Home, immediately followed by the funeral service with Reverend Dave Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
