Atticus was born November 18, 2002 in Athens. He was the son of John Leonard Cleaveland, Jr. and Tammy Hester Cleaveland.
Atticus was a senior at Oconee County High School. His interests and talents were many: he was an artist, he played the violin since the age of six, and he was a black belt in taekwondo. He was funny, kind, generous, and he fiercely loved those friends and family he held closest. His smile could absolutely light up a room, and he will be loved and missed more that he will ever know.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty Merritt Hester.
Survivors include his parents, John and Tammy Cleaveland; maternal grandfather, Cawthon Bell Hester, Jr.; paternal grandparents, John L. Cleaveland, Sr. and Jane Grant Cleaveland; aunts and an uncle, Sandy Hester, Diane Cleaveland, and Grant Cleaveland.
A celebration of Atticus’ life will be held in the spring.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
