
Mrs. Roberts was a native of Athens and had been a resident of Brunswick since 1954. She was a graduate of Athens High School and was a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. She was an elementary teacher in the Glynn County School System and a kindergarten teacher at Frederica Academy on St. Simons Island.
She was member of the College Place United Methodist Church in Brunswick, the Fellowship Sunday School Class, and the Disciple Bible Study series.
She was an avid fan and a lifelong supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carter William Daniel and Mary Alice Daniel; her two sisters, Dorothy Daniel McCullough and Tommie Daniel Gammon; her niece, Victoria Gammon Ballard, and her stepson, Gary Maxwell Roberts.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence O. Roberts of Brunswick; daughter, Carol Van Diviere Davis (Luther) of Washington; a stepson, Jeffrey Roberts (Amanda) of Arlington, VA; a stepdaughter, Robin Roberts Thomason (Rocky) of Greenville, SC; two grandchildren, Daniel Davis of Portsmouth, VA, and Amanda Davis of Rochester, NY; three step-grandchildren, Bo Thomason and Drake Thomason, both of Greenville, and Maxwell Roberts of Arlington; two nieces, Deborah Gammon Ford of Opelika, AL, and Dorry McCullough Lindsey of Eaton, Conn, and a nephew, William Roderick Gammon of Loganville.
A graveside service will be held 10AM Saturday, August 6th at Oconee Hill Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions to Hospice of the Golden Isles or the Alzheimer’s Association.
