He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ivey Boyett and Willie Mae Boyett. Charles was loved by all for his devotion to his family, his intelligence and his gentle nature.
Charles graduated from Georgia Tech in 1954 with a degree in textile engineering. He was Commander of an Army ammunition unit in Germany during 1955 and 1956. Charles performed operations in both West and East Germany. He returned to Columbus, GA in 1956 and became superintendent of Bibb Manufacturing in 1963. While there he assisted in the revision of a mathematics textbook and taught a math class. Charles moved to Athens in 1974 and held supervisory positions at Wellington Puritan in Madison, GA.
Charles is survived by his wife, Thelma Boyett; his sons, David and Mark Boyett and two cousins, Joann Kenimer of Dothan, AL and June Davis of Phenix City, AL.
