A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Dixon was a son of the late Granville Alexander Dixon. He was a retired wood buyer with Alexander Wood Products and served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Dixon was the widow of Floria Mae Warren Dixon.
Survivors include son, Larry Dixon; brothers, Bobbie and Aubry; sisters, Elizabeth, Carol and Betty Jo; grandsons, Chip and Tim; great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Cecily; five step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 4 from 6-8 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
