A native of Jackson County, Mr. Archer was the son of the late Edward E “Bud” Archer and Annie Lou Oliver Archer and was preceded in death by his wife, Lessie Cheek Archer; 4 sisters, and 5 brothers. He earned 2 Bronze Stars while serving his country during WWII and was stationed in the Philippines and the New Guinea Theater. Mr. Archer was a member of Redstone United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Jack Oliver Archer and his wife, Virginia of Nicholson, GA; sister-in-law, Florence Archer Williams of Athens, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Sunday, March 28th at Redstone United Methodist Church with Rev Steven Keller and Rev Doug Conwell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30PM-3:00PM prior to the service at the church.
