Colleen Joy Loran, age 64, of Athens, GA, fell asleep in her home and was awakened on Heaven’s shores on September 28, 2019. Her passing was due to complications from an onset of diabetes.
She was an active member of Nations Church in Athens as well as a caretaker for the elderly. Colleen loved to be surrounded by beautiful things and had a deep appreciation for God’s creation. Her hobbies included storytelling, gardening, and listening to music. Her faith in God was of utmost importance to her daily life.
Colleen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard, in 2016. She is survived by her children, Alan, John (Colleen), Daniel (Karin), Christina, and Christian and seven grandchildren whom she loved dearly as well as her mother, siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. All who knew her grieve deeply for her loss but rejoice knowing that she looked forward to the day she would meet her Lord.
A memorial service was held at Nations Church on October 4, 2019 and private family services will be held at a later date.
