

Delores Anita Bloyer, 73, passed away May 22, 2025. She was born October 8, 1951, in Atlanta, GA. Delores was a loving, caring and devoted mother, wife, and friend. She taught Middle School for Cobb County, GA for nearly 30 years. In retirement she enjoyed a part-time job as a Parking Deck Attendant at the Courthouse for the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government, where she greeted everyone with a smile and a cheerful countenance. She was a woman who never met a stranger.
Delores loved Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries and any other reason to celebrate and give gifts. She enjoyed travelling, especially to any beach destination.
Her kind heart and generous nature will be sorely missed.
Delores was a lover of animals and had many pets, most recently a Miniature Schnauzer named Lance.
Delores is survived by her husband, David Bloyer, Comer, GA; mother, Juanita Dickerson, Portage, WI; brother, Ron (Sally Taylor) Dickerson, Pardeeville, WI; twin sister, Deborah (Stephen) Dobbins, Big Canoe, GA; half-sister, Charlene (Jon) Bullington, Clyde, TX; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather Long, Winter Park, FL; and father, William "Dick" Dickerson, Marietta, GA.
Services will be held at Bernstein Funeral Home in Athens, GA at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, followed by interment in Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens.
