A native of Thompson, GA, Mr. Greene was the son of the late Edna Earl Greene and Lily Mae Finnell Greene. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict and was a retired farmer. Mr. Greene was a lifelong member of Antioch Christian Church where he had taught Sunday school.
Survivors include brothers, Earl Greene, Jr of Garland, TX, Eugene Talmadge Greene of Watkinsville, Nathan Paul Greene, Sr of Athens, and Franklin A. Greene of Athens; sisters, Eulene Fay Smith of Newton, AL, Nancy D. Wortham of Madison, GA, and Elizabeth Waylander of Orlando, FL, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Sunday, September 18th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Dr. Franklin Shumake officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Saturday, September 17th at Bernstein.
Pallbearers will be Paul Woodworth, Lindsey Fambrough, Milton Evans, Walter Elder, Jimmy Christopher, Terry Greene, and Brad Waylander.
