

Mrs. Harvey was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on February 11, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Ethel and E. David Pemstein of Worcester, Massachusetts. She was married to the late Irwin Harvey of Athens Georgia in 1947.
Mrs. Harvey graduated from Syracuse University in 1947. She moved to Athens, Georgia in 1964 when Mr. Harvey took over ownership and management of the New Way Coil Company in Crawford, Georgia. Mr. Harvey then joined the faculty of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and Mrs. Harvey raised their two sons, Bruce and Jonathan Harvey, in Athens.
Throughout her life time Mrs. Harvey was extremely active in the local community including volunteering as a docent at the Georgia Museum of Art, UGA President’s Club and the University Women’s Club. Mrs. Harvey was also a lifelong member of Hadassah, member of the Congregation Children of Israel and participated in numerous play reading and book clubs.
Mrs. Harvey is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Paige Harvey, son and daughter -in-law Jonathan and Lyssa Harvey, grandchildren Kyle and Jordane Harvey, granddaughter and son-in-law Eden and Matt Hendrick great-grandson, Jackson Hendrick and numerous friends and admirers.
Memorial services for Hannah Pemstein Harvey will be held Tuesday October 4, 2011, at 1:00 pm at Congregation Children of Israel, 115 Dudley Drive, Athens, GA 30602.
