A native of Orlando, FL, Mr. Porterfield was the son of the late I.G. and Odell Jones Porterfield. He was a retired mechanic with the Athens-Clarke County School System and attended Lighthouse Tabernacle in Ila, GA.
Survivors include his “lady friend”, Sybil Fields of Commerce; children, Becky Porterfield (Dave), Glen Allen Porterfield, Angela Ann Jenkins all of Florida, and Tina Marlene Nations (Len) of Commerce; brother, Roy Porterfield (Judy); sister, Caroline Webb; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and additional family members, Lynn Norman (Chris), Sissy Richardson (Benny), and Lisa Gillespie (Greg).
Mr. Porterfield will be greatly missed by his family and numerous friends.
A private burial was held Wednesday, October 3rd at Evergreen Memorial Park.
