

James (Jim) Clarence Myers was born March 26, 1932 in Swift County, Minnesota and passed away September 23, 2025 in Athens, Georgia. Jim was the first son of Clarence (Beans) Myers and Isabel Kelly Myers. He and his three brothers: Richard, John, Robert and sister, Monica, were raised on a diversified farm North of Murdock, Minnesota. Like all farms at that time, electricity and indoor plumbing were not common and absent on the Myers farm when Jim was born. These humble beginnings built a character foundation of integrity, honesty, and Christian values that he carried with him throughout his life.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army, He served most of his time in the Army in Japan at the end of the Korean War. He moved to Gardiner, Montana in 1955 after marrying his wife Carole. The highlight of their time in Montana was the adoption of their two daughters: Jacqueline Marie and Julie Ann. Jim retired as Director of Safety & Training for Petrolane Gas Company. He was an avid golfer who loved baseball from the time he was a small boy. He traveled the world with his wife of 70 years, Carole. Of the many places they visited, Ireland and Africa were among his favorites. His pride and joy were his grandchildren. He was a devoted father and husband who lead his family in their Catholic faith and taught them the value of hard work and the importance of family.
In addition to his parents, Clarence and Isabel Myers, Jim Myers was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Myers and sister, Monica Myers Meyer.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Frances Schuman Myers; daughters: Jacqueline Marie DeLuca (John) and Julie Ann Colvin (Jim); brothers: Bob Myers (Francine) and Johnny Myers; four grandchildren: Caitlin Munley (Will), Nicholas DeLuca (Wendy), Molly McCarvey (Scott) and Christina Fioramonti (Mark); four great-grandchildren: Aaron James DeLuca, Jordan Paul DeLuca, Lucia Joan Fioramonti and Harper Scott McCarvey.
A funeral service will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, Georgia on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens, Georgia, immediately following the funeral service.
