Born in Baltimore, MD, Mr. Brunner was the son of the late William and Nina Mae Brunner. A veteran of the United States Army, he was a retired purchasing agent for the United States Government, enjoyed gardening and traveling, and was a member of Tuckston United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brunner was preceded in death by his wives: Betty McTeer Brunner and Shirley Ewell Brunner; and a brother, William “Billy” Brunner.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy and Joel Byron and Suzanne and Bryan Barber; grandchildren: Darain Byron, Ronan Shelton, Kelsey Barber, Kolby Barber, Katherine Barber; and nephew and his wife, Douglas and Linda Brunner.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 6, at 11:00 a.m., at Tuckston United Methodist Church in Athens. A reception will follow the service at the church. The interment will be on Wednesday, May 7, at 2:30 p.m., in Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery in Savannah.
