A native of Oconee County, Mr. Thurmond was the son of the late Alfrus H. Thurmond and Lois Vickery Thurmond and was preceded in death by grandparents, Mack and Fannie Mae Vickery and Walter and Ossie Thurmond; sister, Wyverlyn Marshall Peck, and niece, Windy Peck Wilson.
Survivors include brother, Mack Thurmond and wife, Ellen of Canton, Michigan; sister, Patsy Savage and husband, Frank of Farmington; nephews, Jeffrey Thurmond and Brett Thurmond, and niece, Lorrie Ann Nesbett.
A graveside service will be held 11AM Thursday, September 1st at Farmington Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9PM Wednesday, August 31st at Bernstein Funeral Home.
