Lois Elaine Trandel

Lois was the daughter of the late Elmer and Grace Schwerdtfeger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Trandel, and her two sons, Henry Trandel and Greg Trandel.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Margaret Trandel, and three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jake), Philip (Alison), and Luke Trandel.

Lois was born in Oak Park, IL, and spent most of her life in Chicago, IL, where she was a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital for 25 years. After retiring, she and Ray moved to Athens in 2000 to be closer to Greg, Margaret, and her grandchildren. She was a lover of music and was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church choir, the Athens Choral Society, and the First Presbyterian Mellows for many years. She brought joy and laughter to all those who knew her and she will be dearly missed.

The Trandel family thanks the staff at Quiet Oaks Health Care and St. Mary’s Health Care System for their care of Lois in her final years.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
